If you’re looking for something unusual to do with your kids this Easter, then the Beijing Agricultural Carnival might be just the thing.
Now in its sixth year, this annual celebration of all things farm-related promises “creative hands-on” activities as well as the opportunity to buy produce, clothing, handicrafts and furniture. There’s also 180 horticultural displays.
The Carnival is open now and runs until May 13 at Strawberry Expo Park in Changping. It may seem a little out of the way if you live downtown, but shuttle buses run regularly from Tiantonyuan North, the northern terminal of line 5. They take about 40 minutes to reach the site, and cost RMB 5 (RMB 3 if you have a subway card.) Entrance to the expo itself is a mere RMB 50, or RMB 40 if you book online. School age kids are half price, and little ones under 1 meter get in free.
For more information, and to book online, check out the event’s website (in Chinese only).
