Saturday 28 April was a gala day at Cathay View Plaza, as social enterprise Roundabout celebrated the opening of their new community center and Boutique.
Situated close to Roundabout’s popular thrift store, the boutique sells new craft fabrics, jewelry, cosmetics, and other items to make your life more beautiful. Many of the makers have been featured by beijingkids before. Liuba Draws offers her unique visual take on Beijing life, there’s unique cushions from Souky Souky, and natural skincare products from the Green Room. We were pleased to be able to get reusable metal straws from The Bulk House, a step along the road to cutting out unnecessary plastics.
The opening was marked by musical performances and an outdoor market.
The Boutique is open from Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm. 30 percent of all proceeds go to Roundabout, to support good causes in China.
