I heard about this restaurant on one of the parenting WeChat groups: food delivered through a tubing system in the air. Then I saw a video, and thought I need to take my kid and try this out. Our Monday was filled with boring chores, so for lunch I took her to Spacelab. It’s located in Solana mall, but requires a bit of a search and asking around. You’ll find it by the Moka Bros and Elements Fresh, on the lakeside of the mall.
Don’t expect great service or high quality food. You get shown to your table and that’s basically it. I am not even sure why they have waitresses, as all tables have water, plates, cutlery, and all the other stuff you would need. The food ordering system is done through an iPad so you don’t have to communicate with anybody. Pictures are provided with the menu, and English explanations. You order, you pay, and then you wait, while looking at the ceiling waiting for the order to rush through the pipe system.
My daughter was quite enchanted by her food speeding down, and she promptly ate all her chicken nuggets. The menu is a bit boring with burgers, salads, and the regular kids’ food. Nothing to write home about, but still a fun experience. I would not make a special trip to this place. However if you are shopping in Solana and looking for a funny place to eat, without fuss or culinary quality, you should take the kids here. Get ready to stretch your neck waiting for your food.
