If we told you about a Halloween event where the organizers wanted your blood, you might think we were in league with vampires. But this unique evening is not about the undead, it’s about saving lives.
Bloodline is a charity dedicated to promoting blood donation in China, and this Halloween they’re teaming up with craft brewery Little Creatures to put on “A Little Bloody Halloween”. As organizer Bibiana Lin told us, the event was inspired by a recent incident in which a girl from Beijing’s international community with a rare blood type was saved by an appeal on social media.
“We originally wanted to organize an event to thank the donors for helping Julia,” Lin said. “It evolved into working with Bloodline to raise awareness on the importance of blood donation and creating more support for those with rare blood types living in Beijing.”
But the evening promises to be enjoyable as well as worthwhile.
“We will be sharing information on the do’s and don’t’s of blood donation, and about how people can contribute, in a fun and relaxed setting, over some food and drinks.”
