Hats and Wigs Off to YCIS Beijing Seniors
Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS) held a ‘Leavers Assembly’ for their graduating class. The assembly saw Year 13 students dawn grey wigs and portray themselves as senior citizens 60 years in the future, reflecting on their happy moments at school. The event finished with Year 13 students passing their wigs to the new seniors, Year 12.
ISB Seniors Parade
The International School of Beijing (ISB) graduating seniors were able to bask in the glory of their achievements, as ISB’s annual Seniors Parade gave the community a chance to celebrate graduating students’ achievements. The event displayed a huge amount of pride in the students, who have had offers from institutions worldwide.
WAB 4th Graders Open the Galaxy Café
Elementary School students from Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) hosted their parents and friends at a café this week as the final product of their Build a Business extracurricular club. Leading up to the event, the students learned various skills in finance, design, promotion, and entrepreneurship as a part of their club activities.
BSB’s Got Talent
The Primary school students at British School of Beijing, Shunyi (BSB, Shunyi) showcased an impressive range of talents which included singing, dancing, instrumental performances, magic, acting, and reciting poetry at the BSB’s Got Talent Show. Congratulations to all performers who showed a high level of performance skills, risk-taking, self-confidence, and resilience on stage.
DCB Founder’s Day Celebrating 400 Years of Dulwich
Dulwich College Beijing’s (DCB’s) annual Founder’s Day in May took on a special meaning this year as 2019 was the 400th anniversary of the founding school in London. DCB’s community enjoyed top-notch student performances, tasty international offerings made by parents, friendly sports games, arts and crafts, and splashy summer fun.
BWYA Travels the World
In April, Beijing World Youth Academy (BWYA) embarked on their annual trip week. The trip week is part of the Classroom Without Walls Program, aimed at taking the learning experience out of the classroom, and into new and exciting settings, covering five major areas: Culture, History, Community Service, Language Practice, and Subject Learning.
TEDxYouth@CISB
The Second TEDxYouth@CISB event was held on Friday, May 10. Middle School students from Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB) presented their ideas very effectively and it was really a great success. CISB appreciates the support of all those who came to the event.
Harrow Beijing Den Day 2019
On May 3 and 9, Harrow Beijing Lower School held their fourth annual Den Day at both campuses. Initiated by the UK charity organization, Save the Children, young pupils used a fun and creative activity to learn about a very serious world-wide issue: children’s rights.
The Willow Pattern at BCIS
Middle school students from Beijing City International School (BCIS) performed The Willow Pattern. The play tells the story behind the popular blue and white pottery design that found its way to Europe in the 19th Century. Knoon-She is the daughter of a powerful Mandarin. He wants her to marry Ta-Jin, a brainless warrior, but Knoon-She has already fallen in love with someone else.
3e Charity Community Day
3e International School held their annual 3e Charity Community Day on May 4, raising over RMB 3,000 revenue for Living Water Children’s Home. Children were entertained with recycle-and-reuse-themed arts, crafts, and games organized by 3e teachers and the Parent Council.
Spring Sports Day for House of Knowledge Elementary
The Spring Sports Day for House of Knowledge (HoK) Elementary was held at the Shunyi Campus. House of Knowledge is proud of the excellent performance of their students who partook in sports events such as sprinting, long jump, and throwing. All the children demonstrated their energetic strengths and competitive nature.
Jingxi Ancient Road Research Tour with Beijing Haidian Kaiwen Academy
Sixth grade students of Beijing Haidian Kaiwen Academy started a research and study activity on Jingxi Ancient Road in Mentougou. From Shuiyuzui Village to Niujiao Ridge, and then to the former residence of Ma Zhiyuan, students learned the history of Jingxi Ancient Road and how to identify various plants during their walk.
