Why is there a 26 degrees Celsius button on your remote?
Since the “26 Degrees Celsius Air Con Energy Saving Action” Law was made in 2005, a lot of air conditioning companies in China such as Haier and Midea have made adjustments in order to save energy. Studies show that a temperature difference between indoor and outdoors of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius is the most energy-saving mode. By keeping the temperature at about 26 degrees Celsius, only a third of the energy will be used per hour. In addition, a series of psychological experiments by the engineers in the field showed that people have been acculturated to believe that 22.2 degrees Celsius is the optimum comfortable room temperature. It also showed that the preferred temperature range for occupants dressed in summer clothes is 22.5 to 26 degrees Celsius.
