Didi’s Hidden Gem: How to Use Children Ride Service

According to Didi Chuxing, they have announced on November 6 that they will be reintroducing the Hitch Service. The company has spent more than a year updating the service since it’s cancellation. They have implemented many new rules, and one rule is a restriction for female users who can only use it from 5am to 8pm.

While researching this topic, we have discovered a hidden gem for families with young children. The ride option is called 宝贝专车 equipped with a children’s seat, roughly translating to “children’s car”. It is a service for children between the ages of 9 months and 12 years. Here are the basic steps you need to use this service.

Please note that this option is only available by changing the language to Chinese. 

Step 1

When you change your Didi language option to Chinese, swipe the ride options all the way to the left until you find 关爱出行 （Caring ride service) and select it.

Step 2

Select 宝贝专车（Children’s car）for a car that comes equipped with a children’s seat. You will also have an option to choose your desired pick-up time by selecting 用车时间 （Time to use). Add your pick up and drop off location.

Step 3

If you want to add your contact information, select 选乘车人（Contact info) entering your phone number (手机号) and your name (姓名). Then click the black button on the bottom to get your children’s ride!
