This year’s German Embassy School winter concert will bring to Beijing the 500-year-old tradition of Cambridge University’s Advent Evensong. The concert is conducted by Patrick Johansson, choral conductor of the German Kantorei Peking since August 2019. From the intensive preparation over the last months to the selection of the repertoire, the German Kantorei has immersed themselves in this ancient scholarly musical tradition and will share with you a selection of musical gems spanning from the Renaissance to the Late Romantic. Through a wide range of styles and singing techniques they will usher you to a contemplative Christmas season.

Come and see this exciting show performed by the secondary students of The British School of Beijing, Shunyi (BSB Shunyi). With music and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, this show will surely entertain. This musical stars Seymour, a shy shop assistant whose life completely changes after finding a strange plant. Expect the unexpected and enjoy the sensational 60s style music and dance along the way! There are three performances: Nov 23 at 2pm and 7pm and Nov 24 at 2pm.

Vinci’s – Kid’s Crafts: Fall Harvest Edition!

In this month’s Moka Xiao Vinci’s ongoing kids’ art class taught by Beijing-born, Barcelona School of Design-trained and Bilingual Spanish/Danish artist, Blanca Rosa Rasmussen, kids and parents alike will be guided in making Fall Harvest themed crafts, including lanterns and adorable mushrooms. As an accomplished artist in her own right, she works hard to help children master their own artistic skills and potential. The craft class is appropriate for ages 2 to 12 and absolutely free. There are limited spots and reservations will be made on a “first come first served” basis.

The festive season is here once again. This year, Beijing City International School (BCIS), in collaboration with Roundabout’s Helping Hands project, is hosting a Christmas Bazaar at its main campus in the city. Aside from featuring wares from over 70 Christmas shopping stalls, there will also be Christmas raffles and handicrafts. Santa Claus will be in attendance as you and your family enjoy live music and performances, all tied together with the annual Christmas tree lighting.

Krismas sa Pinas 2019 – Philippine-Style Christmas Party and Concert at EAST Beijing

Experience the Filipino Yuletide merrymaking spirit as Kusina ni Kabayan (KnK) holds their second Krismas sa Pinas Philippine-style Christmas Party and Concert, taking place at EAST Beijing Hotel on November 30, from 3.30pm to 7.30pm.This year’s celebrations feature 28 recipes made by the group’s member cooks and chefs, with a grand raffle draw with a chance to win amazing prizes and Christmas gifts. Guests from the Krismas sa Pinas party will have a 20 percent discount on lunch or dinner buffet at FEAST (Food by East) on November 30.
