Have you ever thought to yourself “I just really need to pet a puppy right now”? In my book, any day that I get to pet a dog is a good day. And there’s no way that I’m alone in believing that spending a few hours with some goofy four-legged fur baby is better than any kind of meditation or therapy. It’s just a fact of life: petting a fluffy puppy makes you happy.
It seems that local Beijing foster organization Lost Puppies of Beijing can read my mind because this Saturday they are hosting a fundraiser that’ll be the highlight of any pet lovers’ weekend whether you’re looking to expand your family or just looking for some fluffy affection.
Lost Puppies of Beijing is a dog rescue network based in Beijing. Founded in 2018, it has rescued and rehabilitated over 180 dogs and puppies – with more added each week! Unlike most dog rescues, Lost Puppies is not a shelter, instead, each pup is lovingly cared for in foster homes across the city so that they can become the best possible forever friends.

At the event, to be held at Side Street this weekend, the ticket price of just RMB 50 gets you a cold pint of beer and the right to hang out in blissful fluffy heaven filled with wet noses, wagging tails, and puppy kisses. You’ll know which doggies are up for adoption by the cute pink Lost Puppies bows that they’ll be sporting. All funds from entry tickets and RMB 10 of every subsequent drink you purchase will go towards helping the rescuers cover medical expenses and care for rescued dogs.
While you’re welcome to bring your own dogs along for the fun, the organizers recommend only bringing your fur-baby if they’re already accustomed to loud crowded spaces. There are plenty of other doggy social events around town where you can bring your dog to get them acquainted with other doggy buddies, but this Saturday probably isn’t one of those events.
And now, the pictures that you’ve all been waiting for… these adorable pups (plus many more) will all be ready to meet you in person this weekend:
