With Beijing getting its groove back after months of COVID-19 related restrictions, one of the city’s most popular night markets amongst locals is back and in full swing again! The Daliushu Ghost Market is located by the East Fourth Ring Road and only takes place on Tuesday events after 5.30pm.
Visitors can browse through stall after stall of antiques, childhood memorabilia from the 80s, DVDs and books, food, and basically all kinds of odd knick-knacks that you didn’t think you needed in your life.
As the Beijinger’s writer Huang Chenkuang covered back in 2018, the market has been taking place in Beijing for over 40 years. If you want to venture over to explore Daliushu Ghost Market for yourself, be sure to bring a flashlight to check out the goods because there won’t be much street light after the sun goes down, and more importantly, don’t be afraid to haggle with the sellers. The unofficial first rule when visiting night markets anywhere in China is to never accept the opening offer!
How to get there: Take subway Line 7 to Nanlou Zizhuang. Exit from exit C, turn east and walk straight around 200 meters.
