Rising Mom – Postpartum & Sexual Health Q&A
Are you a new mom, or do you have a new mom in your circle? This online seminar and Q&A session is all about navigating the postpartum sexual wellness journey. Pregnancy and childbirth bring huge changes to the body, so it’s no surprise that it can take a while for new moms to reconnect and rediscover their relationship with their bodies as women and partners, not just as mothers. Featuring Juke van der Scheer, a women’s health physiotherapist, perineology specialist, and sexology bodywork expert, this is sure to be an enriching and fascinating discussion.
7.30-8.30pm. Online. Free event. Scan the QR code to register.
Sat, May 15
Get your taste buds ready, because this Saturday and Sunday Beijing’s best hot and spicy food festival is once again taking over the city! Bringing together the best hot and spicy food from all over the world, the annual festival is always a knockout when it comes to delicious food. This year, the theme of the festival is Latin America, in honor of the region that gave us the chili pepper, so you can expect loads of food and drinks inspired by the region. One thing we absolutely love about this festival is how tons of local vendors come up with specially designed menu items exclusively available on the weekend (you can check out the full list of vendors here). Along with delicious food, there will be awesome drinks (including non-alcoholic options) and live entertainment on the stage all day. Of course, the highlight of the whole event will be the epic chili eating competition! And don’t worry, parents, there will be plenty of non-spicy food options for the kiddos as well! Scan the QR code below to get your early bird tickets and special goody bags now!
Saturday and Sunday, 11am-8pm. Instreet Galleria Mall at Sanyuanqiao Station. Free entry for children under 1.2m in height, RMB 30 for early-birds, RMB 40 at gate.
Stone Valley Great Wall Camping
Camping overnight on the Great Wall, under the stars, watching the constellations roll by… sounds like a dream, doesn’t it! If this has been on your bucket list for ages, now is the time to make it happen! This weekend the Beijing Hikers are taking a group up for a special overnight camp on an unrestored section of the wall in Yanqing district. Each day includes at least three hours of hiking, and it’s suitable for sporty kids aged seven and older. Oh, and there are special prices for kids too! Bookings are open until Friday or when spaces run out, so don’t delay!
9.30am. Pickup from Liangmaqiao subway station and Lido Place. From RMB 900 for kids. From RMB 1650 for adults.
BlackWater: Crescendo Live Show for Families
Few things get your toes tapping like a traditional Irish reel! This Saturday at Crescendo Studio, members of the local Irish rock band BlackWater will perform a special acoustic set of melodies, dances, and songs from the Emerald Isle. Crescendo offers music classes for kids and adults, and this kind of event is a great way to expose your child to different musical styles and instruments. Who knows, you might have a budding fiddle player on your hands! Book your tickets via 132 4195 4449 or 135 2211 9535.
6pm. Crescendo Studio (13/F, Haocheng Plaza, 6 Zuojiazhuang Zhongie). RMB 60 for kids under ten, all others RMB 80.
