Remember that amazing section of used books that once dominated a nice chunk of space at Roundabout’s store? Well, they’ve since had to move all their book sales online and while it certainly makes shopping easier, you don’t get the joy of digging through thousands of books, thumbing through dusty pages, or inhaling that sweet sweet old book scent.
I don’t know about you, but when I found out that the former literary section had been replaced by beautiful pre-owned furniture, the little bookworm that lives inside my heart shed a tear.
Luckily, the Roundabout inventory shakeup didn’t spell the end of book browsing as we know it, not by a long shot! Roundabout still organizes tons of charity book fairs throughout the year and the next one will take place Aug 28 and 29 at Riveria Country Club (No.1 Xiangjiang Bei Lu) from 10am-3pm.
Thousands of books organized by category will be on sale, making it an afternoon well-spent for parents looking to refresh their kid’s home libraries, as children’s books start at just RMB 1! There’s literally no better place to load up on used books in the capital!
Roundabout is run by volunteers and to make events like the charity book fair happen, they need boots on the ground! That means they’re looking for people to help sort books, set up, lend a hand during the day of the fair, and take down everything once it’s over. If you want to volunteer, add 185 1044 9951 on WeChat or scan the QR code below.
