2 years ago I started my IGCSE’s and I was interested in Economics and business, therefore those were the subjects I chose. My business teacher convinced my dad to make me study Accounting. My dad agreed without asking me first. I was fuming, accounting is one of the most boring subjects – at least that’s what I had heard. I mean how much fun could one have by counting other people’s money.
Anyways, I decided to give it a try but I was sure that I would hate it. oh boy, I was so wrong. it turns out it wasn’t just about counting other people’s money, it was also about understanding how the businesses of the world operate and how the most important stimulant of the world (money) is used. This was something that I always wanted to know and I got it from a place that I would have never explored.
What I learned from this experience was that Shakira was right – you should try everything. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs states that self-actualization is the highest level a person can reach, no one can reach here if they still have regrets. Besides if you didn’t like that particular thing, At least now you know that for a fact and you would not need to ponder over the question What If I did this or that.
