Beijing may have been blanketed in some four inches of snow just last week, but thankfully the numbers on the thermostat have climbed back up to the teens before they’ll plunge down next week according to the weather forecast. So to make full use of these relatively warmer days, we’ve rounded up some great outdoor play areas that deserve a visit while the sun’s shining!
Aegean Sea Park 爱琴海公园 Ài qínhǎi gōngyuán
Ground control to all space cadets! Situated within the 5th ring road, this space-themed playground is located in the Aegean Sea Park and offers free entry to all. You’ll find colorful rocket-looking structures for climbing, with slides, swings, and a sandpit as well. Beyond the playground, the wide-open spaces of the park are perfect for your child to bring their bicycle or skates, which other visitors have reported are permitted. The park is opposite the Ai Qin Hai Shang Chang so you can head to the mall after and grab a bite.

It offers rubber tracks on hills and slopes to train your cycling abilities. There are also balance biking and cycling classes available for little ones, and you can either bring your own bike or rent one, alongside safety gear such as helmets and knee pads. Moncy Club at Olympic Forest Park 萌溪俱乐部 Méng xī jùlèbù
An all-in-one kids zone, Moncy Club at the Olympic Park is a great place for active kids. There’s a sprawling aerial rope obstacle suitable for 4-year-olds and up, a bright Playdale-branded playground for all ages (which was imported from England), not to mention a nice big sandpit and climbing rock wall. To give it a try, you can purchase an all-access one-hour ticket for a kid between 1.5-14 years old at just RMB 19.90! Otherwise, a full-day pass will cost RMB 398 for an adult and child.
