After just one week of school, there’s already a long weekend coming up for families to regroup and play, thanks to the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday that falls on Sep 10, Saturday, rendering Monday a holiday as well. Belt & Road Food Fest at Langyuan Station
You probably already know the Silk Road, but how much do you know of the modern Silk Road aka the Belt & Road? Take a trip down the Belt & Road with us this Mid-Autumn Festival weekend at The Belt & Road Food Fest at Langyuan Station from Sep 10-12. With 40+ vendors taking part, you can explore flavors of such far-flung places as Turkey – a major hub along the ancient Silk Road – Thailand, Cuba, Italy, the entire Mediterranean, and more! There will be plenty of entertainment as well, with live music acts hailing from all over the world, plus DJs and other fun activities. All of this will be happening at Langyuan Station – a factory area turned new culture and lifestyle area that’s one of the hippest places to visit in Beijing.

Mid Autumn Festival Party by Black Sesame Kitchen & Courtyard Institute
This half-day affair is chock-full of activities to keep your little ones busy – from lantern-making to coloring to games and of course, mooncakes and biscuits baking. For trivia lovers, there will also be lots of riddles as it is a long Mid-Autumn tradition to answer riddles on the day. It is believed that you will enjoy good luck if you can answer more than nine riddles correctly! There will also be stories about the moon gods and goddesses that reside in the Jade Palace on the moon, according to Chinese folklore. Lunch will be included in the ticket price.

Rumble in the Jumble: Pachamama Calling!
In the language of the Incas – which is Quecha – Pachamama means Mother Earth. Thus, this market’s mission is to share creative handicrafts and leisure activities with everyone in order to enjoy a better life in a sustainable and healthy way. This unique Rumble in the Jumble market will be all about delicious food, enigmatic beverages, exquisite and sustainable skincare, secondhand clothes donation, as well as physical workshops and meditation. There will also be deejays playing live music for your entertainment. Clear your closet and drop off what you don’t wear anymore between 12 – 4pm on site!

Cultural Keys Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration
Suitable for kids ages 8 and up, this afternoon event will let you try different flavors of mooncakes in a blind taste test, learn fun facts about the meaning of Mid-Autumn from a native speaker, make a clay figurine of the famous Chang-Er, and top it all off with a dumpling dinner!

Cesar’s Experience Family Friendly Hutong Tour: Al Fresco Edition
Veteran tour operator Cesar offers another hutong exploratory walk, but this one is perfect for the cooler summer weather as it takes you around the hutongs at Andingmen and the Lama Temple, ending at the terrace of Pebbles Courtyard just in time for a scrumptious dinner. The 1.5 – 2 hour walk is suitable for kids of all ages and stroller-friendly. As Cesar aims to provide a highly personalized experience, this walk is limited to only 5 families.

FunBeijing Picnic At Chaoyang Park
The perfect weather forecast is just screaming for a picnic and FunBeijing is stepping up to the task with this afternoon picnic event on Monday Sep 12.
