What are these outstanding members of Beijing’s expat community hoping to achieve in 2023? We ask them to share their new year wishes with us.
jingkids Parent Board member Pilaxy Rasmussen: “As we close this book and open a new, unwritten page. My pages will fill up with a little less worry, a little more hope, and maybe new adventures. I want to support my community more and spend more time with family and friends!
PS I bought lots of fireworks, 2023 is going to be just awesome!”
One of Beijing’s most popular photographers (certainly one of ours) Dave Hanssen: “In 20223 I’m looking forward to traveling internationally again.”
Dr Jaclyn Dam Laute: “I’m looking forward to reunions. There will celebrations and tribulations too. It’s life. But to be able to share in the joy and laughter and tears and challenges with those we have been separated from these past three years will be so meaningful and special. To be part of each other life stories as we have shared experiences. To receive, to support , to give back. It’s who we are as humans for connections and growth. I’m so excited and ready.”
Co-founder of Furry Tales Elizabeth Rodewald: “In 2023, I’m looking forward to Furry Tales expanding by rescuing more stray cats and dogs, inspiring others to participate in rescue efforts, recruit more fosters and find adoptive homes in Beijing and internationally as well.“
Probably Beijing’s favorite paleontologist Dr. Tom Stidham: “I’m excited to travel around China again, and to be able to offer more “Dr. Tom” science activities around Beijing.”
Life coach & therapist Rachel George: “2023 is my year of maximizing my moments and -doing all the dos that my hearts been longing for. Writing. Creating. All of it-our life has been on pause for years-time to LIVE!”
Founder of Cultural Keys AJ Donnelly: “With the borders now reopening, in 2023 I’m looking forward to China rejoining the world stage, not just in terms of economic presence, but also in art, culture and tourism. It’s going to be a great year for China!”
Founder of Beijing Meditation Center (BMC) Dalida Turkovic: “In 2023 I wish for open hearts, minds, borders and spaces to bring healing to Earth and her citizens.”
Avisha Space owner Bruno Di Angelis: “In 2023 I’m looking forward to spend a lot of time with family and friends, to be more out in nature, to build new partnerships and programs for Avisha, to create new opportunities for service in Beijing, to travel abroad for studies, and to possibly receive our families visiting us in Beijing.”
Fitness guru Diva: “In 2023, I’m looking forward to spread even further awareness on the importance of adopting healthy habits and exercising and its impact on not only the physical but also the mental wellness. Let’s grow the love and support in my online female fitness community!”
