Peking Man and the First Beijingers
China Culture Plus presents a family educational event at the UNESCO Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site.
See stone tools, extinct animals, and human evolution. Learn about the lives of the first people to live in Beijing (between 10,000 and 700,000 years ago), climate change, and the amazing extinct animals of Beijing like hyenas, saber-toothed tigers, rhinos, and giant ostriches. This is an expert-led tour of the museum and UNESCO caves by Dr. Thomas Stidham, a paleontologist from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
