We know that learning can happen both inside and outside the classroom. Here are the ways that our children at international schools in the city did just that recently.
STEAM Week at Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB)
CISB students were introduced to the exciting challenges that awaited them throughout the week. Lower primary students engaged in hands-on activities that included building towers, crafting musical instruments, and exploring color theory through painting. Upper primary students embraced teamwork and creative expression with art puzzles and STEAM-themed rap creation. Middle school students undertook a bridge-building project, delving into civil engineering, while high school students embarked on an aerodynamics adventure by designing and testing kites. The week celebrated innovation, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving, setting the tone for an inspiring learning experience.
BSB Shunyi Choir Performs at British Ball 2023
The British School of Beijing (BSB) Shunyi Choir delighted audience at the British Ball 2023! Students sang beautifully and looked fabulous in their hats that matched the 1920s theme of “Brits & Blinders.” Money was raised for the charity Roots and Shoots during this British Chamber event, and BSB is honoured to have contributed to a great cause.
Halloween Carnival in YueCheng Courtyard Kindergarten
At YCCK, this Halloween unfolded as a pageant of fantasy and learning. On Oct 31, the school transformed into a realm of enchantment. Their principal donned a wizard’s robe, conjuring an atmosphere of wonder. The courtyard buzzed with excitement as a parade of tiny superheroes, specters, and mystical creatures meandered through. The day was not just about costumes, but was also a harvest of imagination, where even apples turned into miniature jack-o’-lanterns, fusing tradition with innovation. This celebration was another testament to YCCK’s commitment to blending joy with education, nurturing the seeds of creativity in the minds of the kids.
