Experiencing issues with Didi since yesterday? You’re not alone. Your WeChat groups are probably already buzzing with rants and questions from Didi customers who were unable to log into the app, start hailing a ride, contact customer service, cancel reservations, or, perhaps most maddeningly, unable to start the journey even as they sat in the back of the Didi car.
Yesterday, Mon, Nov 27, Yahoo News published that Didi Global had experienced a “systems malfunction” where users in multiple cities, including Shanghai and Beijing, were unable to book rides starting around 10.30pm last night. The company has issued an apology on its official Weibo account and said it is urgently trying to fix the problem. As of 10am this morning, Tue Nov 28, the problems may have been resolved by Didi, though we cannot confirm that this is true for every user on the different platforms.
Given the unfortunate experience, we would recommend downloading some other ride-hailing apps to have on hand in case this happens again. Keep apps like Shenzhou Zhuanche 神洲专车, Dianping, Meituan, and even Amap which allows you to do an immediate price comparison between multiple lesser-known ride-hailing apps and choose multiple options at the same time.
We hope that this information helps you plan and get around your day until Didi fixes the issue!
