It’s not common in China for babies to have pierced ears, but it sure is cute and adorable! When my friend first got her baby girl’s ears pierced, they searched on Dianping to find a little shop that both sells earrings and will pierce babies’ ears. And occasionally, when a new mom in Beijing asks where she can get her daughter’s ears pierced, this little shop comes up. But unless you speak Chinese, you’re not going to have the easiest time communicating what you want with them.
But fret not! For moms who want to accessorize their baby girls, OASIS International Hospital has launched a new ear-piercing service for people of all ages. Honestly, what better place to get it done than at an international hospital where you can communicate with the doctor freely?
The piercings are done by Dr. Joy Oreto, one of the hospital’s beloved pediatricians. The whole process costs RMB 360. If you want a follow-up consultation afterwards, they offer that for an additional RMB 140.
The piercing studs that OASIS uses are Studex, made in the US from medical-grade stainless steel. They’re hypoallergenic, sterile, and individually sealed.
