Winter break is almost here, and for those looking to get their kids involved in some cool winter camps, check out these two camps. Be sure to check out Part 1 of our winter camp post here.
FunFarmFam
Located just 40 minutes from downtown (right next to Dulwich College Beijing), FunFarmFam is offering a week-long camp for kids between the ages of 5 and 12 years old that allows kids to experience some fun outdoor and indoor hands-on active learning.
Founded by Danish architect Morten Holm, FunFarnFam transformed a large family orchard to a Danish model nature school showcasing a sustainable lifestyle. This urban oasis is a chance for kids to learn about nature and life beyond the walls of a classroom.

Coding & Robotics Winter Camp
Young Coders Academy is excited to invite kids to this year’s AI Winter Camp – a tech-savvy adventure where coding and robotics meet the power of artificial intelligence.
This is the perfect opportunity to explore how AI shapes the future while building real-world skills in a fun and engaging way.
Young Coders Academy is offering different camps for different age groups:
Baby Coders Winter Camp
This winter, Baby Coders will explore AI and coding through ScratchJr animations and LEGO Spike robotics. They’ll create fun animations, learn event-based programming, and discover AI pattern recognition in simple, engaging ways.
Using LEGO Spike Essential, our youngest students will program robots with sensors to sort by color or detect obstacles, experiencing AI concepts like pattern recognition hands-on. This five-day camp is a fun, age-appropriate way to spark curiosity in coding and robotics while building skills to prepare for future Mini Coders levels.
Ages: 5-7 years old
Junior Coders
Junior Coders will explore AI and programming through Python and VEX IQ robotics. They’ll dive into AI concepts like machine learning and pattern recognition, using Python libraries like OpenCV to process images, analyze data, and experiment with face recognition.
In the robotics portion, students will design and program VEX IQ robots with sensors to navigate obstacles, identify objects, and perform automated tasks. By integrating Python-based AI with robotics, they’ll see how data-driven decisions enhance performance. This camp offers a hands-on introduction to AI, robotics, and data analysis, sparking innovation and preparing them for future tech challenges.
Ages: 10-14 years old
Young Engineers
Young Engineers will immerse themselves in an exciting, hands-on experience as they design, build, and program robots to solve real-world challenges. Through this camp, students will strengthen their understanding of STEM concepts, mastering engineering, coding, and design as they prepare for the Rapid Relay Competition.
This camp focuses on training for the VEX IQ Asia Open Signature Event, which takes place from Dec 29, 2024, to Jan 1, 2025, at the prestigious Wuxi International Conference Center. Teams from around the world will compete in this official REC Foundation Signature Event, which offers a chance to advance to the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship.
