Beijing No. 55 High School International Students Section is a municipal key school, Beijing Model High School. In 1975, the school was designated as an open school by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Beijing Municipal Government. In 1994, the School International Student Section was approved by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) to become a member school. At present, the school has developed into a flagship IB World School in the Asia Pacific region. The school has adopted the IB Curriculum for foreign students, and provides language foundation classes for students who need improvement in Chinese and English. With its multicultural background, Beijing No. 55 provides students with a variety of classes and extracurricular courses designed for each student’s age, gender, ability, and language skills, so that they become active, creative, and responsible global citizens.
