The Tianjin Juilliard School is the only overseas branch of The Juilliard School in New York. The Tianjin Juilliard Pre-College offers a comprehensive, conservatory-style Saturday music program for students ages 8-18 who exhibit the talent, potential, and ambition to pursue advanced study in China or abroad.
Pre-College students are mentored by an international roster of outstanding faculty, many of whom are also faculty for the Tianjin Juilliard Graduate School. The faculty serve as teachers, role models, and mentors guiding students as they develop technical proficiency while fostering creativity and intellectual curiosity. Classes are taught bilingually in English and Chinese and student schedules are highly individualized and tailored to their specific level of development. Pre-College students are also given ample opportunities to perform in solo, chamber, and orchestral concerts.
The Tianjin Juilliard School is authorized by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, the Tianjin Municipal Government (the Tianjin Conservatory of Music Juilliard Graduate School is the China-foreign joint institution of The Tianjin Juilliard School’s graduate degree programs), and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (USA). The fundamental mission of The Tianjin Juilliard School is to educate new generations of musicians who can take the educational values they will acquire and bring those to the artistic life of China, East Asia, and the world. A Juilliard education empowers students to discover their full potential as musicians, curious intellectuals, responsible global citizens, and leaders of their generation.
